August 2025ItalyCuratory Magazine - Issue 7”

April 2025Italy“Milan exhibition Spazio Milesi”
Valentina was invited to take part in a group exhibition organized by The Holy Gallery, held at Spazio Milesi in Milan, Via Felice Casati 29, from April 24th to 29th. The show brought together artists from across the world, each presenting works that explored distinct personal languages, yet shared a common desire to question, reveal, and reimagine.
Exhibiting in this industrial, raw, and beautifully open space in the heart of Milan allowed her work to exist in dialogue with others, each piece contributing to a wider, evolving narrative. It became a moment of connection, exchange, and reflection, both with the public and among the participating artists.
Being part of this international context felt like a natural extension of her practice, which often moves fluidly between cultures, practices, and materials.

June 2025Italy“Also a child can do it”
A series of 8 collages created on A5 sheets during a return to “home,” away from the abundance of tools and mediums. A reflection on simple thought and elementary, straightforward gestures, cutting and sewing.
“A child could do this” is often said in a dismissive tone, but I see it as the highest compliment. Creating with the freedom, spontaneity, and purity of a child is something we adults often spend a lifetime trying to unlearn, yet it may be the most important thing to hold on to.
These works are tied only to the simple joy of creating, in a simple way, free from any preconceptions.

October 2024/ongoingBelgium + Italy“A Textile Project”

The artist creates fabric collages from fragments collected over time, each carrying its own story of texture, weight, and color. She cuts, layers, and stitches these elements instinctively, letting the tactile qualities of the materials guide the composition. Imperfect seams, visible threads, and uneven edges become an integral part of the work’s language, preserving the traces of the creative process itself. In fabric, images are not only seen but also felt, soft, rough, elastic, or fragile, offering a slower, more intimate way of looking.

This is an ongoing project, set to evolve into larger formats and more complex compositions, expanding the visual and tactile possibilities of the medium.

December 2021Belgium"Something pink for the country house."

Sometimes a work takes shape in direct response to its architectural context. The proportions of a room, the quality of its light, and the surrounding landscape can influence the palette and composition. A pink canvas for a country house, for instance, becomes a quiet negotiation between the work and the space, where color and form are chosen to inhabit the place as naturally as its walls and windows.

May 2023Belgium“Exhibition Lenteontmoetingen

Valentina has been invited to take part in a group exhibition in the city of Bilzen, on the occasion of artist Roel Vandermeeren’s open studio. The title Lenteontmoetingen, meaning “spring encounters,” announces the gathering of 19 artists, both emerging and established, invited to present works that engage in a dialogue with one another.

The diverse styles, mediums, and perspectives of the participating artists create a rich conversation within the exhibition space, where each piece responds to and reflects upon the others. This interplay invites viewers to explore the contrasts and connections that arise, offering a multifaceted experience of artistic expression and renewal, much like the energy and freshness associated with spring.

Painting on display during the exhibition:
Number 74, acrylics and paper  on canvas, 24x30 cm, 2023
Number 87, acrylics on canvas, ø 60 cm, 2023
